Foot-PAW season is upon us, hooman! Gearing up for fall means cooler weather, pumpkin-flavored everything, and of course, football. Whether you are a big college or professional fan, it’s always fun to involve your pup in the game day activities. Here are 3 ways to celebrate football season with your pup:
1. Dress Your Pup to Impress
Get online and order your favorite team jersey for your pet to represent! They will be sure to bring a little extra luck and team spirit on the day of the big game. If you can’t find your dog a jersey anywhere, then maybe look for a bandana, collar, or leash. If you’re feeling creative, you can even try a DIY bandana and paint on your team’s logo.
2. Make Pup-Friendly Tailgating Snacks
Not everyone loves football, but everyone loves tailgating snacks, especially your pup! If you’re having people over for a game day, a fun way to include your furry friends in your activities is by having dog-friendly snacks for them. Here is a great video from Chewy on how to make football cookie dog treats:
One last tip regarding food, make sure to keep your pets away from your hooman tailgating snacks because things like brownies and wings can be bad for your pup.
3. Play Games at Halftime
If your dog has been cooped up inside for most of the day while you are watching the game, then maybe consider taking them around the neighborhood at halftime. Another fun way to break up the game is to get all of your guests in the backyard (including your pets) and play games like frisbee, football, or corn hole.
